The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, offers research and teaching programs in the disciplines of computer technology, computer systems engineering, electrical engineering, and electronic and communication engineering.Curtin University history extends to the beginning of 1900. Continuing the tertiary programs formerly conducted in the Perth Technical College, the Western Australia Institute of Technology (WAIT) was established in 1966, and in January 1987, became Curtin University.
Global research and development to aid the visually impaired
Curtin University would like to congratulate The Association for the Blind of WA for 100 years of service to the community. For the last 15 years, we have been a proud partner, working together on technological innovations to improve the lives of the visually impaired. Our Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering staff and researchers have been involved in a number of projects including partnering with the Cisco Academy to deliver a global education program to 150 students in over 14 countries. This program prepares students for ICT and networking careers.
